Guardian Angel Devices is a product startup manufacturing and selling its own line of patented safety beacons. Initially joined Guard Angel as a private equity fund’s E-Commerce Manager before moving directly in-house as the Technology Director. Both roles held responsibility for all e-commerce technology aspects of the company.

  • Orchestrated site migration to a new multi-environment provider, improving uptime and allowing sandbox testing of new features. Removed need for outside dev agencies to access production code running on AWS.
  • Managed mobile app development agency, working with Ionic and Capacitor frameworks for cross-platform TypeScript development. Designed and built hardware POC to demo potential mobile connectivity features.
  • Led customer analytics and segmentation data warehouse project with JavaScript, PHP, and PostHog, allowing marketing teams to track previously invisible customer shopping trends.
  • Designed and developed a PHP WooCommerce B2B portal that allowed wholesale customers to access new payment methods and ordering capabilities, minimizing the need for manual action on new customer accounts.
  • Coordinated cross-departmental improvements of online inventory and pricing data, leading to a company ERP migration project that centralized CRM information, returns tracking, and other product lifecycle data.

  • National Landscaping Supplier: B2B website replatform for a national group of landscape supply distributors. Led on-site technical discovery, coordinated multiple client IT teams to connect internal data systems with website and cloud integration applications, and trained client technical teams on new platform development.
  • 45-Store Liquor Retailer - Retail website replatform for one of the largest chains of liquor stores in the Midwest. Led technical discovery and project development efforts. Coordinated site launch with payment and data platform vendors.
  • National Electrical Supply Company - B2B website replatform for a national, multi-brand electrical distributor. Led overall technical discovery and managed development for CMS implementation phase.
  • 20-Store Home and Farm Retailer - First e-commerce site for a regional chain of outdoor supply stores. Authored integration NuGet package for Order Management System (OMS) platform used by data integration and e-commerce projects. Developed payment and tax integrations. Wrote CSV import jobs, API connection tools, and tooling for scheduled job management, then handed off to client teams.

  • Fortune 500 Energy Utility: Integration with energy meter vendor’s IoT SOAP endpoints. Development of internal data forwarding service for test environments. Ported other services from Java to C#.
  • National Insurance Benefits Administrator: Member of a four-developer Agile team that built a new Angular / Spring Boot client portal. Designed front end architecture to fit client’s need for containerized deploys and language agnostic front end microservices with stateless back-ends. Built portal apps in Angular and wrote auth service library in JavaScript, focusing on unit test coverage. Wrote documentation and templates for client developers.
  • Statewide Credit Union: Member of a five-developer full-stack Agile team that built an Angular / .NET Core loan submission web app using client’s new real-time credit approval vendor. Wrote integrations for fourteen loan types within deadlines by coordinating requirements between vendor and client. Documented vendor service regressions and specification discrepancies for vendor resolution. Built RESTful API featuring Swagger OpenAPI documentation. Presented code reviews to client developers, regularly demoed back-end features to client executives and stakeholders.
  • Global Heavy Equipment Manufacturer: Initial nvisia employee placed with client’s internationally distributed team of 7 B2B portal developers. Reduced SQL Server timeouts with index creation and query optimization. Wrote and presented team specific training on .NET Core, microservices, and Angular.

Holland Group - Head of Technical Operations

Holland Group is a collection of family-owned wholesale and retail brands Led technology strategy, planning, and project execution for a set of companies that included four e-commerce sites, a WordPress Multisite Network, two warehouse inventory systems, an iOS app and related backend, Asterisk PBX system, four SQL Server installations with related SSRS reports, and network infrastructure for multi-homed, on-prem website hosting.

  • Directed vendor evaluation, data conversion, and development during e-commerce replatforms for five brands.
  • Developed API endpoints in C# and ASP.NET WebAPI to ShipStation’s integration specifications, removing the need for customer service employees to manually organize order tracking data.
  • Built internal postage API using C#, NHibernate, and EasyPost, backed by multiple internal commerce databases. Postage API reduced shipping costs by allowing warehouse staff to rate shop multiple carriers.
  • Increased company shipping capacity with savings of over 90 minutes daily during peak season by creating a touchscreen-ready JavaScript web app for label printing. Companion Windows utility connected local scales and printers.
  • Led customizations and bugfixes of Znode, an ASP.NET based e-commerce platform. Oversaw development of a bespoke platform administration control panel.
  • Wrote C# service to recommend box sizes for outgoing orders, saving postage costs by reducing void area. Integrated with warehouse fulfillment systems to provide real-time packaging data for warehouse staff.
